Jim Hill has more than 30 years of experience in economic development and local planning. As the Research Manager for Forsythe & Associates, Jim performs custom research and data analysis to support corporate clients. He has recently assisted multiple clients with research to support feasibility studies, workforce assessments, and comprehensive location selection projects.
Mr. Hill joined Forsythe & Associates after seventeen years with the Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC) where their mission is to improve the quality of life of every Greenville County citizen by facilitating investment and job growth from new and existing companies. During his time with GADC, Mr. Hill supported project managers by developing and maintaining databases on available properties and community information. He was also responsible for preparing detailed responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) for prospective companies and location consultants. Project experience included office and headquarters projects (Esurance, Samsung, and ChartSpan Medical Technologies), logistics projects (KI Logistics, Sun City Produce, and PL Developments), and manufacturing projects (Fitesa, Bosch Rexroth, and Michelin).
Prior to joining the GADC, Mr. Hill spent four years with the Anderson County Office of Economic Development as Research Manager and ten years with the Greenville County Planning Commission as a Principal Planner and an Economic Planner.
Mr. Hill earned the designation of South Carolina Certified Economic Developer from the South Carolina Economic Developers' Association (SCEDA) and SCEDA awarded him with the Distinguished Service Award. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia and a Master of City and Regional Planning from Clemson University.
